Dobble Tea Party
Classic spinning teacup rides themed around the Dobble card game - suitable for all ages including very young children.
About Dobble Tea Party
Dobble Tea Party is Thorpe Park's spinning teacup ride, themed around the popular Dobble matching card game by Asmodee. The ride follows the classic teacup format: riders sit in large cup-shaped vehicles that orbit a central platform while also spinning on their own axis. The speed and amount of spin can be controlled by a wheel in the centre of each cup - riders who spin the wheel faster will rotate more than those who leave it still.
The ride is located in the family area of the park and is one of the most accessible attractions - there is no meaningful height restriction and very young children can ride accompanied by an adult. It is Thorpe Park's gentlest ride for families with toddlers or very young children.
What to Expect
Dobble Tea Party is not a thrill ride - it is a fun, low-intensity experience aimed at young children and families. The orbit speed is gentle and the spinning is entirely within the riders' control. Adults riding with young children will find it comfortable, if not especially exciting on its own terms. As a break between the more intense rides, and as a reliable option when younger members of a group can't yet meet the height requirements elsewhere, it serves its purpose well.
Tips for Dobble Tea Party
- The wheel controls your spin. If you want maximum rotation, spin the centre wheel continuously. If you prefer a calmer experience, leave it alone and the cup will orbit without much additional spin.
- Good for very young children. With no height restriction and gentle motion, this is the right ride for toddlers and young children on their first Thorpe Park visit.
- Short queues. Teacup rides rarely build long queues at Thorpe Park. Usually a quick ride with minimal waiting.
- Avoid if prone to motion sickness. Despite the gentle pace, the combination of orbit and spin can be surprisingly effective at triggering nausea - especially if you spin the wheel hard.
