Thorpe Park Queue Times

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Overview

ThorpeParkQueue.com ("this site", "we") is a static website that displays publicly available queue time data. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it under UK GDPR.

Data we collect

Server logs

Like all websites, our hosting infrastructure (Amazon CloudFront and S3) automatically records standard access logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These logs are used only for diagnosing technical issues and are not shared with third parties.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g. how many people visit per day, which pages are most popular). Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address in truncated form. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by declining cookies in our banner.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • If you accept cookies in our banner, Google may show personalised ads using its DoubleClick cookie and other identifiers.
  • If you decline cookies (or ignore the banner), we set a non-personalised-ads flag before AdSense loads, so Google will show only contextual, non-personalised ads that do not use your browsing history.
  • You can review or adjust your personalised ad preferences at any time at My Ad Center, and opt out of third-party vendor personalisation at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).

For full details, see Google's Advertising Privacy & Terms.

Cookies and consent

We do not set any first-party cookies ourselves. The cookie banner records your choice (accept or decline) in your browser's local storage so we don't show the banner again. Third-party services (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may set their own cookies once loaded.

Our lawful basis for processing under UK GDPR is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for personalised advertising and analytics cookies, and our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for essential server logs and non-personalised advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's local storage in your browser settings — the banner will then reappear on your next visit.

Third-party data

Queue time data is sourced from ThemeParks.wiki. Weather data is sourced from Open-Meteo. We do not control their data practices. Please refer to their privacy policies for details.

Your rights

If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we collect only standard server logs and do not associate them with identifiable individuals, we are generally unable to action individual requests. For advertising-related data held by Google, please contact Google directly via Google's privacy support.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. AdSense is configured to serve non-personalised ads to users who have not consented, which include child-appropriate advertising controls.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
